Sox take game one.

Last night in CT featured rain, dropping temperatures, the rumble of thunder and late night playoff baseball.

'View from CT" player of the game has to be Jon Lester who pitched a great game. Kudos to Masterson for pitching a sharp 8th inning. Jason Bay matched Manny's post-season HR production to date this year to put the Sox ahead for good in the 6th.  Quote of the evening goes to Papelbon who said of Bay "In this game, the coolest cat always wins. It's that simple."

Game 2 with Daisuke getting the start is Friday night with a slightly earlier start - Red Sox Nation members have the opportunity to attend what sounds like a pretty cool watch party at Fenway:

"You are invited to an exclusive, citizens-only ALDS viewing party at Fenway Park on Friday, October 3! Join your RSN Vice President Rob Crawford and Massachusetts Governor Jared Carrabis in the State Street Pavilion to watch the Red Sox take on Anaheim. Admission is FREE, the World Series trophies will be on hand. There will also be prizes given away throughout the
game including a pair of tickets to Game 3 of the ALDS at Fenway Park. Food, soft drinks, beer and wine will be available for purchase.

Space is limited and reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Please RSVP for yourself and one (1) guest by Thursday at 5 p.m. EDT to redsoxnation@redsox.com. Please bring your e-mail confirmation to Fenway to be admitted to the event."
