Red Sox Friendly Connecticut #1

Living in Connecticut – certainly in southern Connecticut, you quickly realize that bars, restaurants, etc are either Sox friendly, nor not.   Of course you can find the Switzerland place – both Sox and Yankee fans welcomed – but you can’t have both games on at once so that really doesn’t work.

So where are the Sox friendly establishments?
First up – Modern Pizza in New Haven. Visited by the trophy tour in 2004 – it can be argued that Modern is the best pizza place in New Haven.  Located on State St – parking in the lot next door – the pizza is of course outstanding.
Lots of Sox memorabilia on the walls to occupy your time while you wait for the pie to come out of the oven. The only problem – no TVs!  So while you will certainly feel welcomed – it isn’t the place to watch the game with your pie.

Pitchers & Catchers tomorrow!

Pitchers and catchers report tomorrow – bring on spring! (Look past the snow piles – you’ll see it!)  But what’s up with Daisuke’s back? Red Sox Nation day is June 18 – the return of Manny to Fenway.  Lotteries for Dodger and Yankee tickets announced in a couple of weeks. Go Sox!

SOX on NESN Tonight!

What more can you say?  Sox on NESN
tonight !  Sox on NESN tonight!  Let the games
begin – Sox on NESN tonight!

Pitchers & Catchers!

What more can you say – little touch of
spring in Connecticut these past few days – and pitchers and
catchers report today – time to come out of hibernation in
Red Sox Nation!

Red Sox Road Trips for Ticket Vouchers

Yesterday I went to the Crystal Mall in CT for the Red Sox Road Trip – fans who attended got RSN CT posters, schedules, stickers and most importantly a voucher that enables them to purchase Sox tickets before the general sale next Saturday.

Those of us who have spent long winter Saturdays hoping to get out of the Sox Virtual Waiting Room (VWR) know what a good benefit that is!
Folks started lining up early – before 11 for 3PM start – 100′s in line before the event even started.
Met lots of CT RSN fans and had a very enjoyable day – good luck using your vouchers this week – remember – they can be used starting Tuesday at noon.
Road Trip events today and tomorrow in other NE states – check out redsox.com for more details – I bet they are well attended even though it is snowing today.
Regular season tickets for folks without vouchers – Saturday the 24th – lay in the supplies for a day on the phone or watching those PC screens.
An enjoyable day taking baseball – freezing cold outside – but with talk of baseball – Spring cannot be that far behind.
Good luck in the VWR,
CTGov

November update

Haven’t posted in a while – all around thoughts…

Congratulations to Dustin Pedroia of course for being named MVP – heard the chants back in Fenway in August – MVP! MVP! MVP!  Excellent news.
Sad to hear of the trade of Coco Crisp – sounds like the Sox got an excellent player but I must admit that I was a Coco fan and will miss watching him work. Good luck Coco and thanks for your contributions.
Another non-baseball note – bail out the car companies? Can part of the deal be no more Hummers please, geesh.
